“If you’re against gay marriage, then don’t get gay married.”
There’s a good chance readers have heard that response to bigots from the marriage equality crowd, and for good reason, as that’s where the matter should end for anyone.
But conservatives, and even some backwards, uptight liberals, aren’t merely against gay marriage personally, they’re against other people’s gay marriage, as well. They’re against the concept of gay marriage, and thus through flimsy public campaigns, they discriminate while almost certainly simultaneously using services and products created by the LGBT community (not to mention atheists) every day, never even remotely aware of their cherry-picking hypocrisy.
